Misuse of PM's plane: Case against Shehbaz, Maryam to be referred to NAB

He says properties owned by Sharif family in London are also under scrutiny

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar on Saturday said that the prime minister s plane was misused during the tenure of previous government as Rs340 million were illegally spent on air travels.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Saturday, he said that Mariyum Nawaz illegally used the prime minister s aircraft, adding that former Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif spent Rs 600 million on air travel.

The special assistant said that the government has decided to send cases of financial misuse by the previous Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

“The details about the misuse of funds and authority are being sent to National Accountability Bureau for investigation,” he said.

Shahzad Akbar said that the government will ask NAB to hold independent investigation and we are going to hand over the record of Prime Minister House from 2014 to 2018 to NAB.

He said the properties owned by Sharif family in London are also under scrutiny and its details have been sought from British government.

Prime Minister s Special Assistant Iftikhar Durrani said the government is fully resolved to follow the cases of accountability.
